Planning gained on Wellington House

The latest hotel for our Rogue City Hotels Group

In mid-August 2019, the Henley Homes Group, in collaboration with 3DReid, obtained planning permission to convert Wellington House, a listed former tribunal centre in Glasgow, into a 98-suite luxury hotel.  Located in the prosperous central district of Merchant’s Quarter, it will become known simply as ‘The Wellington’ and will be run by our Rogue City Hotel Group brand.  It joins The Hobson in Cambridge, which is due to start on site towards the end of the year, and Dunalastair Hotel Suites, our award-winning hotel in the Highlands which opened in May 2017.  Preliminary work on The Wellington is well advanced and start on site is anticipated for the first quarter of 2020.  Opening is currently anticipated for the second quarter of 2021.

External works of this stunning property will be limited to the creation of two statement entrances, façade restoration and a creative lighting scheme which transforms the imposing 19th century block into an attractive night-time landmark.  Internally, the spaces will be subdivided into Rogue City’s trademark design-led boutique suites and finished to very high standards. Key features include an impressive new double-height foyer with a ‘floating’ meeting room and magnificent central chandelier.  The hotel will contain no dining or recreation spaces, as these will be offered by partnering with existing local providers, in Rogue City’s innovative ‘alternative luxury’ operating model.
