TECHNICAL

 

Project Architect

 

Outline: working within an existing team, reporting to Technical Manager and liaising with Land, Construction, Commercial and Sales teams (as well as external stakeholders) to provide efficient design progression.  To lead on concept design, design development, statutory approval, production information, specification, tendering and site inspections, as defined by the RIBA Plan of Work. Manage design team itself.  Host or attend meetings and report to directors on project progress, as required.  Establish new systems and processes as needed.

Skill Requirements: minimum of 2 years RIBA Part-III experience/or a good Part-II with on-site practical experience in residential, commercial and hotel sectors. Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Vectorworks, Adobe CS and Microsoft Office suite. Exceptional skills in design, model making, and architectural renders will be positively received. Applicants with a strong background in architectural engineering will be given preference; applicants should have experience in specification writing, producing technical detail packages and schedules. Fluency with all building, CDM, planning and new home warranty regulations, to include BREEAM/LEED, CfSH.  Good understanding of BIM to level 2 and PAS 1192-2 and 1192-3. Team management experience. Commercial acumen, to take into account cost implications of design changes. Good written and verbal communication skills.

Technical Coordinator/Senior Technical Coordinator

 

Outline: working within an existing team, reporting to Technical Manager or Project Architect and liaising with Land, Construction and Commercial teams (as well as external stakeholders) to provide efficient information management.  Produce working drawings and revisions thereof, as needed.  Work with colleagues to ensure efficient discharge of building regulation and planning conditions, plus CfSH, BREEAM, etc.  Attend and contribute to design team and project review meetings, ensuring that all actions arising are completed in a timely manner.  Give input into Land appraisal process.  Get involved in tendering process for consultants and utility providers, and maintain fee schedules/payments once they are appointed.  Work with sales team to provide and check lease plans, marketing plans and schedules of accommodation.  Assist with establishing new systems and processes as needed.

COMMERCIAL

 

Quantity Surveyors

 

Outline: working within an existing team, reporting to Managing Surveyor or Commercial Director and liaising with Construction and Technical teams to provide efficient financial control to building projects, to obtain successful commercial outcome.  Undertake the following (and to lead any reporting to you in the same): budget creation and management (prelims, logistics, actual costs), subcontract procurement/admin/close-out, disciplined change management, detailed financial reporting, commercial input into design meetings (design development, buildability, value engineering, risk reviews, etc.).  Ensure compliance with Development Agreement and/or Employer’s Requirements, as required.  Assist in management of adjudications or other Dispute Resolution processes.  Direct and supervise the Material Buyer, ensuring budget control is exercised.

Skill Requirements: BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification or significant industry experience.  Extensive work history with building contractor or developer, with experience of high spec residential or housing association contracts preferred.  Detailed knowledge of contract management in JCT. Change management skills.  Dispute management skills.  Excellent IT literacy, with MS Office as standard and any COINS experience a bonus (though training will be given).  Good written and verbal communication skills.

Location: Battersea SW8, with travel to sites as needed.  Also located in Greater Manchester area, with travel to head office as needed.

 

 

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

 

Outline: working within an existing team, reporting to Senior QS and liaising with Project Manager and Lead Designer to provide efficient financial control.  To provide assistance in the following: build cost, budget management, subcontract procurement/admin/close-out, variations, change requests, site instructions, data entry into cost management software, detailed financial reporting, commercial input into design meetings.

Skill Requirements: BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent industry experience.  Work history with building contractor or developer, with experience of high spec residential or housing association contracts preferred.  Excellent IT literacy, with MS Office as standard and any COINS experience a bonus (though training will be given).  A good understanding of contracts, cost planning and post-contract management.  Good written and verbal communication skills.

Buyer

 

Outline: working within an existing team, reporting to Commercial Manager and working closely with Construction, Technical and Finance teams.  Review requisitions coming in from sites, checking and correcting them as needed. Identify the correct suppliers for quotes, negotiating as needed.  Place order using appropriate method, in line with procurement schedules, budgets and any supply agreements in place.  Undertake supplier management, to include delivery, price and credit negotiation.  Maintain clear communication between sites and head office, regarding lead times, etc.  Provide reports and attend meetings as required.

Skill Requirements: Strong previous experience at Buyer or potentially Assistant Buyer level with building contractor or developer.  Experience of high spec residential or housing association contracts preferred.  IT literate, with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project). Prior knowledge of COINS would be useful, but training will be given. Strong emphasis on accuracy and detail. Good time management and organisational skills: ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet goals and deadlines. Basic mathematical knowledge.

CONSTRUCTION

 

Project Manager

 

Outline: reporting to Construction Director, manage the construction process from start to finish and deliver the project to completion, to budget and deadline, with minimum defects.  Manage project day-to-day: ensure that all delivery targets are met, all processes and procedures are followed, all meetings take place as needed, and all reports are provided fully and on time.  Manage site team, to include training requirements.  Adhere to Project Manager’s Manual regarding health & safety, site presentation, welfare, etc. Create, monitor and report against programmes, as required. Manage project budget and report on same, alongside QS. Management of utility connections.  Management of information relating to all relevant codes, regulations, permissions, etc.  Management of design and procurement, to ensure project is on time and on budget.

Skill Requirements: A degree-level qualification and/or significant industry experience in sizable residential and mixed-use developments essential. Good IT literacy with proficiency in MS Office programmes, including Project. Current SMSTS qualification essential.  Current H&S/first aid qualifications essential. Good written and verbal communication skills.

Location: London & South East, site-based with travel to Battersea head office as needed

 

 

Site Manager

 

Outline: reporting to Project Manager, assist in delivery of the project with focus on H&S, security, budget, programme, plant, welfare facilities, and minimising defects. Assist in monitoring and reporting against programmes, as required. Assist in ensuring that all delivery targets are met, all processes and procedures are followed, all meetings take place as needed, and all reports are provided fully and on time.

Skill Requirements: Significant industry experience in sizable residential and mixed-use developments essential. A formal qualification in construction would be an advantage. Good IT literacy with proficiency in MS Office programmes, including Project. Current CSCS qualification essential.  Current H&S/first aid qualifications. Good written and verbal communication skills.

Location: London & South East or Greater Manchester, site-based

 

 

Assistant Site Manager

 

Outline: reporting to Project Manager, assist the Site Manager in delivery of the project with focus on H&S, security, budget, programme, plant, welfare facilities, and minimising defects. Assist in monitoring and reporting against programmes, as required. Supervise direct labour and ensure continuity of sub-contract works.  Assist Finishing Foreman in internal QA process, and pre-handover and handover inspections, plus closing out of defects in the first 3 months post-occupation.  Assist in ensuring that all delivery targets are met, all processes and procedures are followed, all meetings take place as needed, and all reports are provided fully and on time.

Skill Requirements: Relevant industry experience in sizable residential and mixed-use developments essential, and a formal qualification in construction would be an advantage. Good IT literacy with proficiency in MS Office programmes, including Project. Current CSCS qualification essential. Current H&S/first aid qualifications. Good written and verbal communication skills.

Location: London & South East, site-based

 

 

Finishing Foreman

 

Outline: reporting to Project Manager, assist the Site Manager in QA process, including snagging and pre-handover/handover inspections of units with their final owners. Assist site team with site presentation and management of security, plant & equipment, welfare and H&S.  Create, monitor and report against snag and handover programmes. Supervise direct labour and ensure continuity of sub-contract works.  Manage closing out of defects in the first 3 months post-occupation.  Assist in ensuring that all delivery targets are met, all processes and procedures are followed, all meetings take place as needed, and all reports are provided fully and on time.

Skill Requirements: Relevant industry experience in sizable residential and mixed-use developments essential, and a formal qualification in construction would be an advantage.
